NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Newman encourages residents to apply for positions on City commissions and committees that will have vacancies in 2026.
Each year, the City publishes a list of expiring appointed terms for the coming year, names of incumbents, and the year of their appointment.
The following is a complete list for 2026:
Architectural Review Committee – two seats – two-year terms will expire in April 2028
Mia Ball, At Large Member Reappointed 2024 Current Term expires April 2026
Donald Harmon, Business/Chamber Member Reappointed 2024 Current Term expires April 2026
The City of Newman is also seeking interested candidates to fill two unexpired terms on the following City of Newman Commission/Committee:
Architectural Review Committee – two vacant seats – unexpired terms will expire in April 2027
Vacant, Building Professional Member Unexpired Term Term expires April 2027
Vacant, Newman Historical Society Member Unexpired Term Term expires April 2027
Those with an interest in appointment should complete an application for Citizen Service available by clicking on the link below. Please return applications to the City Clerk, City Hall, P.O. Box 787, 938 Fresno Street, Newman, California, 95360, as soon as possible. If you plan to drop off your application, you may utilize the Drop Box in front Of City Hall. Applications will be accepted until said positions are filled. The City Council may interview candidates and make appointments at a regularly scheduled Council Meeting (likely in early 2026).
